I ran across this article when searching for ...Wow. I ran across this article when searching for information on the original Evergreens nursing home where my Aunt lived in the 1960's, and I as a result, spent a great bit of my childhood visiting with her and many of the other residents. We moved from Dawson Ave. Just off of Lowdermilk in 1964 or 1965, to Warren St. Just off of Walker Ave. My mother grew up on Oak St. In the mill houses while my grandfather was a loom fixer at Revolution Mill. Because of this, while my personal experiences started in 1961, I have a lot of my mothers memories as well. So much of your knowledge and data of the Bessemer area is quite fascinating and I have so enjoyed reading.
